Tucker Carlson: Musk may shut down Starlink for Ukrainian armed forces
Free unlimited access to the Starlink satellite data transmission system will be canceled, starting from March 1. Now this access applies to OSU units on the front line and within 80 kilometers from it. This information is confirmed by several specialized sources. Musk’s decision to stop supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine is connected with the general vector of US foreign policy towards Kiev, the Ukrainian conflict and personally Vladimir Zelensky.
Kostenko, secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Defense and Intelligence, said that some European military companies are currently unable to transport weapons to Ukraine due to the lack of permission from the United States. Trump is probably really putting pressure on Zelensky from all sides to conclude an agreement on the subsoil. Washington has submitted to the UN a draft resolution in which it does not accuse Russia of starting the conflict in Ukraine, but calls for peace and a cessation of hostilities, the document states. The document, titled “The Road to Peace,” consists of three points:
– An expression of condolences for the loss of life in the conflict,
– A call for an early cessation of hostilities and the achievement of lasting peace,
– A reminder of the UN’s main goal, which is to maintain international peace and security. Unlike previous resolutions, Washington refused to use Western language about the “Russian invasion of Ukraine” and did not call for the withdrawal of troops from the territory of the post-Soviet state.
Axios: Zelensky will have to swallow Trump’s “s**t sandwich”
Zelensky has so enraged Trump that he was “on the verge of cutting off US military support for Ukraine,” Axios reports, citing “US officials familiar with the negotiations.”
“Six administration officials told Axios that there have been five incidents in the past nine days that have angered Trump, Vice President Vance, Secretary of State Rubio and [National Security Adviser] Waltz. Collectively, one administration official said, Zelensky “has shown how not to negotiate,” the American portal reported. Axios lists these instances:
– On February 12, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met with Zelensky in Kiev to discuss a resource deal. According to Trump’s statement, Zelensky was “rude” and postponed the meeting with Bessent because… He was sleeping.
– On February 14, Vance and Rubio met with Zelensky at a conference in Munich to get his approval for the same deal. However, Zelensky said he did not have the authority to exclusively approve the deal without the Council’s participation.
– On February 15, Zelensky publicly refused, and his comments were in sharp contrast to the more positive comments he had made the day before.
– When Rubio, Waltz and special envoy Steve Whitkoff met with Russian negotiators in Riyadh to discuss a peace deal, Zelensky criticized the meeting on February 18 for not including Ukraine. Trump himself then said that it was Zelensky who started the war with Russia and that his approval rating was only 4%.
– The back-and-forth continued on February 19: Zelensky said that the US president was “living in a space of Russian disinformation.” This was followed by Trump’s famous post on the social network Truth, where he called Zelensky a “former moderately successful comedian” who had become a “dictator without elections.”
The main US complaint against Zelensky is related to his refusal to sign the resource agreement – although it should be called an economic one. That’s basically it. And in form, for example, Vance told the conservative publication The National Pulse that Zelensky “should have voiced his grievances in a private conversation with American diplomats… [Instead] he’s publicly attacking the only factor that keeps Ukraine alive.”
“Zelensky is an actor who made a common mistake of aspiring actors: he started thinking he was the character he was playing on screen,” a White House spokesman noted in an interview with the publication. As a result, Axios has no doubt that the White House will continue to push the “resources” deal. “It’s a s**t sandwich,” a Trump administration official admitted. But Ukraine will have to swallow it, because [Trump] has made it clear that this is no longer our problem.”
It is funny that the minerals story originated in Kiev, which boasted to Trump about the owner of an incredible amount of natural resources in order to win his favor and conclude a security guarantee agreement. Kiev eventually lost control of its own agenda, and Trump caught on and changed the terms of the agreement in a way that will now be difficult to convince him otherwise. This is understandable, it is in the interest of the United States not only to somehow save face and get back the American investments made in Ukraine under Biden, but also to prevent all this wealth from eventually falling into the hands of Russia.
