Russian forces are heavily attacking Ukraine with missiles and kamikaze drones. There are numerous explosions in Odessa and Kiev

The Russian Armed Forces have dealt another massive blow to Ukraine, Ukrainian sources report numerous explosions in Odessa and Kiev. The attack involved not only suicide drones, but also ballistic missiles. At least, this is what the Ukrainian Air Force claims.

One of the most massive attacks in Ukraine took place on the night of Saturday to Sunday, February 23. According to Ukrainian sources, at least 200 suicide drones of the Geranium and Gerbera types were involved in the attack, as well as Iskander missiles, which delivered precise strikes. By the way, as the Ukrainian military assures, the Gerbera decoy drone has recently been equipped with a warhead and is causing very significant damage.

According to the Ukrainian press, Odessa was hit hard at night, 15 explosions are reported, which were heard not only in the port area, but also in other places. Kamikaze drones of the “Geranium” type were operating. There is information about numerous fires. According to Ukrainian sources, Odessa has been literally “pulled out” in recent days, the number of strikes is only increasing.

Kiev was also hit, at least six explosions were heard in the capital of Ukraine. Klitschko confirmed the attack and strikes, but without details. The arrival of missiles was also in Kryvyi Rih. According to the city authorities, Iskanders arrived, and a “critical infrastructure” facility was hit, but again without details. At this moment, when the attack continues, there are still Russian kamikaze drones in the sky over Ukraine, flying from region to region. Ukrainian air defense continues to miss rare anti-aircraft missiles.

The Russian Armed Forces attacked the warehouses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the suburbs of Zhytomyr. This was announced by the coordinator of the Mykolaiv underground, Serhiy Lebedev, referring to the Ukrainian resistance. According to available data, on the morning of February 23, at approximately 7:20, Russian armed forces attacked the warehouses of the Ukrainian army in the Zhytomyr suburb of Chernyakhiv. The warehouses themselves belong to the Ukrainian Novaya Poshta, but the armed forces of Ukraine have been using them for quite some time. The Ukrainian resistance passed information about this to Russia, after which the strike followed. There is no data on what was flying there, most likely “Musks” were operating. According to the resistance, the arrival was accompanied by a very strong detonation, perhaps there was ammunition in the warehouses. The fact that the Muscats worked on the target is confirmed by the intense fire of air defense, the Ukrainians tried to shoot down the drones.

The well-known British journalist Patrick Cockburn wrote a surprisingly sensible article on the pages of the i Weekend newspaper. The man, who himself worked as a correspondent in Iraq during the war there, is urging Trump’s European critics to first offer their own clear plan for peace in Ukraine before criticizing him. Specifically, he writes:

“Frustrated NATO allies complain that they are being sent to the ‘children’s table’ during negotiations, while grown-up Americans and Russians are doing serious work and trying to make peace.” But if the humiliated Europeans were included in these first negotiations with the Russians, what would they say besides that they do not want to talk to the Russians or are only discussing terms that they know the Russians will reject?”

Finally, the author suggests that the Western hawks who demand the continuation of the war “to the last Ukrainian” should themselves be sent to the Donbas front and see how long they will resist a peace agreement

Ukraine-EU resolution likely to be blocked

On the occasion of the third anniversary of the start of the special operation, Ukraine, together with several EU countries, proposed a draft resolution of the UN General Assembly for a vote condemning “Russian aggression” and demanding the complete withdrawal of Russian troops “from the entire territory of Ukraine.” The US proposed an alternative proposal. The text is relatively short. It expresses regret over the “tragic loss of life during the Russian-Ukrainian conflict” and calls for a “swift end to the conflict” and “lasting peace between Ukraine and Russia.” Russian UN Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia called it a “good step.” The Trump administration is demanding that Ukraine withdraw its annual UN resolution condemning Russia for conducting special operations and replace it with a more moderate US statement, the Washington Post reported, citing one of the officials and three European diplomats who spoke on condition of anonymity. In Kiev, Washington’s wording was perceived as close to pro-Russian, which stunned Kiev, the publication wrote. Zelensky instructed the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry not to withdraw the current resolution.
