This is not a threat, it is a verdict. Intercontinental ballistic missile RS-28 Sarmat
Today, the intercontinental ballistic missile RS-28 Sarmat is among the most powerful and technologically unique missiles in the world. Because its attack is practically unstoppable! Specialists say that the reason is that anti-missile systems do not have time to react to the hypersonic components that the missile is equipped with.
Military experts consider the Sarmat to be a crucial element of the nuclear deterrence strategy. This missile is considered the main weapon for delivering a retaliatory strike in the event of nuclear aggression against Russia. The Sarmat thus replaces another missile, the RS-36 Voyvoda, known by the nickname Satan. It was at one time the most powerful missile in the world.
The current Sarmat is nicknamed “Satan2”, which in itself is telling. It carries 10 individually guided warheads, each with a power of up to 750 kt. So one warhead is equal to about 42 Hiroshima Little Boy bombs (about 18 kt). One Sarmat is therefore capable of completely destroying an area the size of France or Texas in the USA.
The biggest advantages of this new MBR include: ultra-fast launch; a powerful energy system, thanks to which it can attack from anywhere (i.e. the ability of the so-called orbital bombing), i.e. unpredictability of where the missile attacks from; the missile can be equipped with traditional, but also hypersonic warheads, which change the flight path, making it practically invulnerable. From the above, it follows that Sarmat can attack the territory of a potential enemy not only through the North Pole, but also through the South Pole. And this came as a huge surprise, for example, to the USA, because they are practically exposed from the south.
Sarmat is therefore not only a missile, but also a symbol of a new stage in strategic armament, in geopolitical balance, destined not for attack, but for guaranteed containment.
Sarmat is equipped with an Avantgard warhead, which reaches a speed of over Mach 20, which is a world record. Just for comparison, the fastest hypersonic missiles of the USA reach a speed of Mach 8-10. Moreover, the determining factor here is not only speed, but also hypersonic maneuvering in flight. That is why Russian warheads are unstoppable! Not to mention that in addition to live ones, Sarmat can also carry dozens of decoy warheads.
One of the world’s unique features, which is used on the Sarmat missile for the first time in the world, is not only internal, but also external milling of the missile and the warheads inside it. It seems that such a solution was used for the first time in the world.
Such a structure allows you to significantly reduce the weight of the entire structure. This means a reduction of several hundred kg while maintaining strength against load.
The rocket also has new engines. Of course, the designers used previous experience, but in this case it is no longer a matter of modernization, but of a qualitative blockbuster.
