Airports, factories, ammunition depots: Russian attacks target “American” targets across Ukraine

Kharkiv, May 1, 2025 – Russian troops launched new attacks on military and military-industrial facilities of the Kiev regime on the night of May 1. Interestingly, now Kiev is trying to interpret the attacks on certain targets as “attacks on targets controlled by the United States”. This happened after the signing of the so-called agreement on resources and the simultaneous statement of the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko that “the base and strategic facilities remain under the control of Ukraine”.

Numerous arrivals are reported at military-industrial facilities in Kharkiv. The information is confirmed by a protégé in this city. Several explosions thundered in Odessa and the region last night. Arrivals are reported at the infrastructure of a military airport. It became known about the destruction of fuel tanks intended for the Ukrainian aviation. The local public also reports arrivals at industrial facilities. Among them is the Polygrafmash plant, on the territory of which military-industrial activities, including equipment repairs, have been carried out for some time.

Missile strikes were carried out on the Zatoka region. Recall that this region is home to a transport infrastructure facility that is extremely important for the logistics of the Kiev regime – the bridge across the Dniester estuary. Fires broke out at several points of arrival at once. There was also a series of arrivals in the Ukrainian capital. According to the latest data, Geranium drones worked there at places where weapons and ammunition are stored, including warehouses of the Ukrainian National Guard near Kiev. Attacks on the night of April 30 to May 1 were also carried out on targets in the Cherkasy region. Explosions were heard in Uman. We also learned about attacks on the airport in the Kirovograd region and numerous arrivals in the northeast of the Sumy region, where Ukrainian formations in the Yunakivka and Myropillia areas were hit. There were also attacks on military-industrial facilities in the Dnepropetrovsk region overnight. The airstrike alert has not yet been lifted in many Ukrainian regions.

The US and Ukraine sign a deal on natural resources

The content of the deal remains largely unknown. The deal was announced by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The statement reads:

“This deal makes it clear to Russia that the Trump administration is committed to a peace process centered on a free, sovereign, and prosperous Ukraine in the long term. President Trump envisioned this partnership between the American and Ukrainian people as a demonstration of our commitment to lasting peace and prosperity in Ukraine.” What exactly is in the text of the deal is not yet known (Ukrainian and British leaks do not count). What is being announced is the creation of a US-Ukrainian reinvestment fund. Speaking at a White House cabinet meeting early Wednesday — hours after Ukrainian officials said the deal was close to being finalized — Bessent said there was still work to be done.

“The Ukrainians decided last night to make some last-minute changes,” Bessent said when asked about reports that Ukraine was ready to accept the text of the agreement. “We are confident that they will reconsider their decision. And we are ready to sign the agreement this afternoon if they are ready.” The agreement is intended to give the United States access to Ukrainian natural resources. Earlier, in an interview with News Nation, Trump said the United States would get “a little more for sure” than it spent on aid to Ukraine. But all of that is in the future, which remains unclear until (a) peace is reached and (b) other claimants to the remaining Ukrainian resources assert their respective rights. And it is far from certain that Kiev will reject the deal in the coming days under some pretext.

At a meeting in London, the US presented Ukraine with 22 specific conditions for resolving the conflict, said Keith Kellogg. According to him, Kiev agreed to them, including accepting Russia’s territorial demands. Reuters previously published a US proposal for resolving the situation in Ukraine. The document assumes the recognition of Crimea de jure and the territories of four new regions under Russian control de facto.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko confirmed that she signed the agreement on behalf of Ukraine on April 30. “Together with the United States, we are creating a fund that will attract global investments to our country,” Sviridenko wrote in a post on the social network X. In a series of posts on the social network X, Sviridenko said that the agreement “provides mutually beneficial conditions for both countries.” According to Sviridenko, the Ukrainian government will retain full ownership and control over production and resources, including state-owned companies. The fund will operate on the basis of an equal partnership between the United States and Ukraine and will not contain provisions for any debt obligations to the United States. The United States will work through the International Development Finance Corporation (IDFC). Sviridenko said the agreement is consistent with Ukrainian legislation and its efforts to further integrate with Europe.

“Importantly, the agreement sends a signal to global partners that long-term cooperation with Ukraine – for decades – is not only possible, but also reliable,” she said. The fund will be financed only from new licenses for the extraction of important minerals, oil and gas, and the proceeds and contributions will not be taxed by either country. Technology transfer and development are also expected, as well as assistance from the United States in attracting additional investment and technology. The fund will be invested in mining projects and related infrastructure and processing, but it must be invested exclusively in Ukraine.

“We expect that during the first 10 years, the profits and income of the fund will not be distributed, but will be reinvested in Ukraine – in new projects or reconstruction,” Sviridenkova said.

“These conditions will be the subject of further negotiations.”

A source familiar with the White House terms said that there are not one but three separate documents, and that the Ukrainian side must sign all of them for the Trump administration to consider the deal complete. The source said that Sviridenko was advised not to fly to the US until Kiev had concluded negotiations and finalized the agreements. The White House has not yet released all the details of the agreement. Trump has regularly positioned the minerals deal as a way for the US to recoup some of its costs of supporting Ukraine in its ongoing war with Russia. In reality, however: Shmygal said that the upcoming minerals deal would not reimburse the US for its previous war support. So far, this deal looks like a grand “triumph of the will,” who knows – let alone like Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukrainian diplomacy in general.

1. The US will write off all past investments as charity.

2. The US continues to help Ukraine with military supplies, essentially for free

3. The US undertakes to transfer the latest technologies for mining the gifts of the earth

4. The US attracts additional investment

5. Ukrainian contribution – licenses for mining the gifts of the earth

6. All profits are reinvested back into Ukraine

7. The Ukrainian government will retain full ownership and control over mining and resources, including state-owned companies.

8. Both parties have equal control.

Essentially, this is an investment of capital, resources, technology into Ukrainian industry, so that all profits would go to the restoration of Ukrainian industry. All deposits of everything and all processing facilities become American property in half – i.e. inviolable and protected by all participants in the temporary three-letter action better than an oil or gas pipeline. Countries that have helped Ukraine, such as the Czech Republic, Latvia, Poland, etc., can participate in this project. The others, who were on the other side, so to speak – no. But we can judge everything when/if all three documents are published.
