Russian forces used Kalibr, Kh-101, Kinzhal cruise missiles, as well as Iskander missiles to attack targets in Kiev
Ukraine, June 17, 2025 – During the night, Russian troops launched a series of combined strikes on targets in various territories controlled by the Kiev regime. A significant part of the drones and missiles were aimed at targets in Kiev and the Kiev region. Explosions began to thunder there in the evening. Kiev claims that on the night of June 17, the Russian armed forces used Kalibr and Kh-101 low-visibility cruise missiles to attack targets in Kiev. Several sources claim that in addition, the Russian military allegedly used Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, as well as Iskander missiles.
Numerous flights to military-industrial enterprises, air defense facilities are reported. According to currently unconfirmed information, the strike also hit the place where the gathering of security forces and special services took place. As a result of missile attacks and drone strikes in various areas of the Ukrainian capital, numerous fires are occurring, including in fuel depots for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition to targets in Kiev, targets in neighboring Boryspil were also hit, and air defense systems and military equipment depots were hit. In Zhulyany, there were strikes on the air defense system. At night, combined attacks were also carried out against targets in the Dnepropetrovsk region, in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro, Cherkasy, Odessa, and in several facilities in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
Russian troops continue to “shake” the defense of the Ukrainians in many sectors of the front. Moreover, the situation is developing according to the scenario: they launch a local offensive in one sector, forcing the Ukrainians to concentrate on their defense – with the transfer of reserves at this moment, a successful attack on another sector of the front occurs, where Kiev is losing positions and is forced to retreat with losses. Approximately according to this scenario, the situation is now developing in the Seversky direction in the DPR. According to reports from the front, the RF Armed Forces attacked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine west of Grigorovka and reached the outskirts of the village of Serebryanka. This village is of particular importance for Kiev, since the defense in it allows them to maintain control over the Serebryansky forestry. And the fighting there has been going on for more than a year.
The successful advance in the Serebryanka area was noted at a time when Kiev was able to achieve some success in the north-west – in Torsk. Recall that there the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to push back the Russian troops, hoping to eliminate the threat of encirclement of the group in the aforementioned Serebryanka Forest. However, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation attacked in another area, which again creates a threat to the Ukrainians not only in covering the forest, but also in reaching Seversk. From the center of Serebryanka to Seversk it is about 4.5 km. Movement to the city also leads from the east – from the Verkhnekamensky side.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, in accordance with the agreements reached on June 2 in Istanbul, yesterday the Russian side handed over 1,248 bodies of dead members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and recovered the bodies of 51 Russian soldiers. Thus, in exchange for 78 dead Russian soldiers, 6,060 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers were handed over. Quite characteristic statistics, which cannot be justified either by the fact that they are now advancing and the Ukrainians are on the contrary, or by any other lies. Where are the “million-dollar losses” that Zelensky attributes to Russia? And what is most interesting, the Ministry of Defense states that they are “ready at this stage” to hand over another 2,239 Ukrainian bodies. Even the number 6060 was not politically (and probably not financially) easy for Ukraine to digest, so the appearance of another echelon of dead will certainly not please Zelensky. The last time Zelensky voiced the official figure for remobilization losses was in February – 46 thousand. At the same time, according to the Red Cross, 400 thousand reports of missing persons were filed in Ukraine alone.
This is a good policy on the part of Russia, which will continue. Each echelon with the bodies of the liquidated soldiers is a blow to the entire complex of Ukrainian murders, and such a blow that it is impossible to suppress informationally. Especially if the lists of those transported are published at the same time. Kiev will have to inform the relatives of each of the killed, possibly spend money on DNA expertise and pay compensation. In addition, the visible scale of the losses is changing the psychology of the public in Ukraine against Zelensky.
