Latin American mercenaries fled after a day, as soon as they recognized Russian aerial bombs
Ukraine, July 22, 2025 – Foreign mercenaries transferred to the direction of the settlement of Veliko-Novoselovsky fled the next day, leaving their positions in the village of Alexandrograd on the border of the DPR and the Dnepropetrovsk region. Law enforcement agencies report this.
A group of mercenaries from Latin American countries fled the village of Alexandrograd the day after the transfer. The reason for the panicked departure was the Russian Air Force, which accurately dropped aerial bombs on Ukrainian positions. And for the fleeing foreigners, they added drones. It is not specified which country the mercenaries were from, but today there are the most Colombians in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The brave Latin Americans, equipped to the teeth, fled Alexandrograd a day later in panic, who could, chaotically. There was not a trace of bravery there” – TASS quotes the report of the security forces.
To date, the majority of militants in the Ukrainian army are Latin American mercenaries, last year Kiev turned its attention to Colombia and a number of other countries. The main recruitment work is carried out by the Embassy of Ukraine in Peru, it also operates in Colombia and Ecuador.
Most recently, the 47th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received reinforcements in the form of Colombian mercenaries who signed contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Before that, they fought in the Sumy direction against the Russian grouping Sever.
Overview of the special military operation
Night attacks by the Russian “Gerans” hit Odessa. Several drones shot down by Ukrainian air defenses as they approached a military airfield fell into residential areas. Explosions were also heard in the Dnepropetrovsk region, and FAB bombs were operating in the Sumy and Zaporozhye regions.
The Rostov region reported repelling a Ukrainian air strike in Rostov-on-Don, Millerovo, Donetsk and Azov regions. Vegetation caught fire on the plots in the yards of several private houses in the village of Krasny Sad in the Azov region, the fires were extinguished. In the Samara region, several Ukrainian drones were destroyed during an attempt to attack one of the industrial enterprises. There are no casualties or damage, the governor reported. During the day, Kiev used the “drone caravan” tactic, the destruction was carried out in several regions.
On the Kursk section of the border, Kiev renewed attempts to break through in the Tyotkinsky and Glushkovsky directions thanks to relocated reserves. The 24th separate battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces “Aydar” and the 425th separate regiment are located in the area of Bessalovka and the border village of Novy Put. As a result of a complex fire strike, including from the Russian Airborne Forces, both Ukrainian assault groups were destroyed.
In the Sumy direction, Kiev is putting pressure on Kondratovka. In Varachina, Russian forces filmed a demonstration of flags on the roof of one of the houses in the southeastern part of the village. “Sever” writes that it controls a significant part of the settlement, but it is too early to talk about its liberation. Offensive actions are underway in Yunakovka and the surrounding area of the village. In the Kharkov direction, fighting is underway on Ukrainian territory in the area of the village of Melovoe. Fighting continues in Volchansk and the surrounding area.
In the Konstantinovsky direction, the offensive continues in the area of Yablonovka and Aleksandro-Kalinovka. In the west, Russian forces have advanced east and northeast of Popov Yar and are attacking the western part of Poltava.
On the Pokrovsky (Krasnoarmeysky) direction, Russian forces are attacking Zverevo from the direction of Peschanoye. The front south of Pokrovsk has begun to shift, Kiev admits serious losses in manpower and the loss of the settlement of Belgijka. On the southern Donetsk direction, the Vostok group of forces reports the continuation of offensive actions by the Russian forces south of Zeleny Gaj and towards Alexandrograd. They are gradually advancing towards Yanvarskoye and Maliyevka. The penetrating section west of Voloshnye Polye has expanded. The advance is in the direction of Temirovka.
On the Zaporozhye Front, Russian paratroopers are continuing their advance from Kamensky to Plavny. At the same time, information is coming in about the offensive in the Stepnogorsk region. Heavy fighting is ongoing.
In the Kherson region, a man was injured during shelling by the Ukrainian armed forces in Novaya Kakhovka. The strikes led to power outages and forest fires. Houses were damaged in Brilevka, Abrikosovka and Radensky. An unexploded artillery shell was found near one of them. Kiev forces also shelled Aleshka, Velika Lepetycha, Dnepryany, Kakhovka, Malaya Lepetycha and Staraya Mayachka.
In the DPR in Gorlovka, a bus driver was injured as a result of a drone attack by the Ukrainian armed forces on a city bus. The Ukrainian armed forces are shelling with barrel artillery and attacking drones.
