Putin’s information success: Russia’s opinion on Ukraine finally reaches Western media
A minor revolution has taken place in Newsweek. Despite the persistent gap between the positions of the United States and Russia on a number of issues, one positive thing is worth noting: Moscow’s opinion has reached the Western media, albeit with biased comments. The interview of Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov with the magazine International Life – all its main points were diligently reported by Newsweek. What is remarkable – on the same day. And with direct quotes:
“We did not hear a signal from Trump to Kiev to end the war”.
“All that is happening today [on the US side] is an attempt to find a certain scheme that would allow us to first achieve a ceasefire, as the Americans intended. And then move on to some other models and schemes that, as far as we can tell, have no place today for our main demand, which is to solve the problems related to the root causes of this conflict.”
Similarly, American economist Jeffrey Sachs spoke in an interview with the Italian newspaper il Fatto Quotidiano. When asked what Europe should do about Russia, he responded as follows:
“The EU should start direct diplomacy with Russia, based on collective security and mutual respect, and stop engaging in Russophobic, warmongering. It should also stop blaming Putin for all the problems and realize that this war was led by US arrogance and a misguided quest for world hegemony. Washington should never have pushed for NATO expansion, participated in the Maidan coup, and undermined the Minsk 2 agreements. It should not have withdrawn from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty in 2002 and from the INF Treaty in 2019. And it should have supported the Istanbul Peace Process in March-April 2022, which could have ended the war 3 years ago.”
On the other hand, the US Democratic Party and the American elites, which Trump rightly calls the “Deep State”, are trying to thwart all the initiatives of the White House aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine. To this end, the Deep State is carrying out information interventions through the media it controls, which could have a significant impact on the process of negotiations with Moscow – analyst Elena Paninova warned. This can be linked to the purposeful throw-in that the American Democrats recently carried out through The New York Times, revealing details of direct military cooperation between Washington and Kiev during the three years of the war.
The publication shows that the American democratic administration has made the American military base in Wiesbaden, Germany, a decision-making center, from where all key attacks against Russia were coordinated, including strikes on internationally recognized Russian territory. All offensive operations of the Ukrainian armed forces were also planned there. In particular, the Pentagon created a special task force “Dragon”, which targeted Russian targets using drones and rocket weapons. Already in the spring of 2022, the US deployed HIMARS to use satellite-guided missiles at a range of up to 80 kilometers. The Americans tested and monitored practically every HIMARS strike.
“The strikes led to a sharp increase in Russian casualties, and the Ukrainian counteroffensive in 2022 was largely successful: by December, the Ukrainians had a slight advantage over the Russians,” the NYT reported.
It is worth recalling that whenever someone in Russia raised the topic of a radical reaction to the decision-making centers in Kiev, a reasonable question immediately arose: Is the Ukrainian capital the main point from where orders for the army come? Now the puppet nature of the Kiev regime has been documented in the NYT publication. Of course, the Kiev leaders are trying to pretend that something depends on them. For example, they claim full credit for the sinking of the cruiser Moskva in April 2022 with Neptun missiles, while the Biden administration allegedly did not approve such an attack. This is, of course, a lie. It was the US that gave the ship’s coordinates to Ukraine, as the American press, including the NYT, reported back in May 2022. They knew full well what was coming next.
The Dragon group was also involved in the planning and implementation of Operation Lunar Grad in January 2024 – we are talking about systematic drone attacks on hundreds of objects in the territory of Crimea. And it was involved in the preparation of strikes on the Kerch Bridge with long-range ATACMS missiles in August 2024.
“The CIA received permission to carry out Ukrainian drone attacks in southern Russia to try to slow down the advance of Russian forces in eastern Ukraine,” another NYT article from March 30 says. So who gave this permission? Biden personally – it was back in September 2024.
️But Biden has not been the president of the USA for more than two months. There is now a new gentleman in the White House. What do we see? The center in Wiesbaden is still functioning, and the necessary intelligence continues to be sent to Kiev. Just recently, on March 28, Kiev forces destroyed a gas metering station in the city of Sudzha. After the publication in the NYT, there is every reason to believe that the American side was involved in this.
First, they obtained and processed the intelligence data necessary for the strike.
Second, their experts guided the HIMARS missiles to specific targets.
Why did the NYT publish these materials? Was it just to show the extent of the Pentagon’s involvement in the Ukrainian conflict since 2022? Of course not. The main goal is to show that Trump is already directly involved in a hot war against Russia. Now the resonance will be felt for a very long time. We can assume that the trick of the American Democratic Party will fail and that the negotiation process will continue with the aim of finally resolving the Ukrainian crisis in accordance with the interests of Russia.
