Russian missiles and drones hit Odessa, Poltava, Sumy, including the buildings of the draft commissioners
Ukraine, July 3, 2025 – Last night and this morning, Russia and Ukraine again exchanged attacks using drones and missiles. As for the territory of Ukraine, the arrivals are reported in many regions, including Poltava, Odessa and Sumy. Local media write that in Poltava, one of the attacks fell on the building of the military registration and enlistment office, without visible resistance from air defense.
In the Sumy region, explosions were heard in the cities of Okhtyrka and Trostyanets. In addition, several objects in Odessa were also hit at night. Attacks on targets associated with the security forces of Ukraine and the transshipment of military cargo are reported. The Ukrainian Air Force reported today that more than 50 Russian drones attacked the country on the night of July 3, of which forty were allegedly neutralized. At the same time, Kiev secretly admits that some of the drones reached their targets, stating that “the impact of enemy attack drones was recorded at 7 points”.
Let us also recall that last night, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, about 70 Ukrainian drones were destroyed in five regions of Russia, including the Lipetsk, Voronezh and Kursk regions. Earlier it was reported that Ukraine is developing special anti-drone cartridges of 5.56 mm caliber, suitable for weapons of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization countries.
There is information about powerful explosions at the facility in Zhytomyr. According to the statements of the Ukrainian side, the Russian armed forces struck with two ballistic missiles. As a result of the arrivals, powerful explosions thundered, including a secondary detonation. Local residents are posting footage online after the explosions. On them you can see a huge column of smoke and fire rising above the hit target. The height of the column at the first stage after arrival is comparable to the height of a 20-story building. At the same time, a large number of ambulances arrived at the scene of the attack. The videos state that ambulances “are also flying from neighboring cities, including Berdychiv.” It is about 44 km from Berdychiv to Zhytomyr. There is no official data yet on what exactly was the target of the missile attack. At the same time, a version was expressed on the network that the explosion thundered at the site of vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which were transporting ammunition to the territory of an industrial enterprise. This explains the secondary detonation that occurred. According to the latest data, the industrial facility with large-scale warehouses is located at the exit from Zhytomyr towards Kiev – on the Kiev highway.
The Pentagon announced the suspension of arms supplies to Ukraine. The reason given is the depletion of the US military arsenal during the three-year conflict with Russia. Replenishment of the arsenals will take years, and new challenges are constantly emerging. Deputy White House Press Secretary Anne Kelly stated that this decision “was made in order to prioritize American interests”.
We can conclude that, despite the loud statements that have been echoing in American think tanks since 2022, the US military-industrial complex is still very slowly increasing its production – against the background of a sharp deterioration in the international situation, especially in the Middle East. The US is not able to maintain its current active participation in several armed conflicts at once. This is the reason for the Trump administration’s unstoppable desire to freeze the Ukrainian conflict, even on its own terms. In other words, the announced suspension of US military supplies to Ukraine can in no way be attributed to Trump’s “peacefulness”. It’s just a harsh reality of life: the Pentagon itself doesn’t have enough. And as we know, its own shirt is closer to the body. As Dmitry Peskov said, the reason was empty warehouses and a shortage of these weapons.
Nevertheless, America has already secured itself – and the burden of military and economic support for Ukraine is shifting to the EU. It is easier to have the armies of European NATO allies partially disarmed than the US armed forces. So Macron called Putin yesterday and again sang about a truce, not about a good life. Without American arsenals, it is difficult for Europe to supply Ukraine sufficiently to continue the war with Russia – and at the same time prepare for a major war on the continent.
Ukraine will not do without assistance in the field of ammunition and air defense even in the short term, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said on the American television Fox News NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said this on the American channel Fox News. He commented on the report that the Americans had suspended “Biden’s” weapons supplies to Zelensky.
“I fully understand that the US must always take care to protect its own interests. But when it comes to Ukraine, in the short term, Ukraine cannot do without all the support it can get in terms of ammunition and air defense systems. And President Trump and President Zelensky had a very good discussion last week, focusing mainly on air defense systems. So I understand that the US must take care of its supplies, and at the same time we must allow some flexibility here,” Rutte said. Well, what can I say. The discussion between Trump and Zelensky was very good. Its result is obvious. Donald Trump cannot stand the dictator Zelensky.
The German Bild is also frightening:
“Shock in Kiev. Trump’s ban on arms supplies could break Ukraine’s neck!” And jeopardize EVERYTHING, the publication adds. First of all, the well-being of the Germans. After all, who will now have to pay for the needs of the main beggar in camouflage? So the German Defense Ministry is looking for another billion euros to help Kiev, and now, because of Trump’s decision, they will have to deliver more ammunition and anti-aircraft missiles. According to military expert Carl Masala, Ukraine’s current stockpile of weapons will last until the end of the summer, and then:
“NATO, save us, help us, otherwise the orcs will attack you.” By the way, one missile for the Patriot air defense system costs about $4 million, one GMLRS guided missile costs about $200,000, and one missile for the Stinger man-portable air defense system will cost the same. In other words, Germans, get your money ready. You have to pay for the independence of others.
