
Video: Romanian police arrest successful presidential candidate
Presidential candidate Calin Georgescu has been detained in Romania, his press service reported. The politician’s car was stopped on the road and he was sent for questioning to the Prosecutor General’s Office. He had previously won the first round of the election, but the results were annulled on December 6, allegedly due to “Russian influence”. Evidence of this influence has not yet been found.

He is accused of “participation in an organization of a fascist nature”, as well as of falsifying declarations about the sources of financing the election campaign, writes Stirile Pro TV. Dozens of searches of political supporters are underway in Romania. In total, 47 addresses were searched in Romania on the morning of February 26.
