Senior Houthi official: “The victories of the axis of resistance and Yemen belong to Iran, it initiated the resistance”
Israel, April 15, 2025 – Yemeni rebels from the Ansar Allah movement attacked Israel’s Ben Gurion airport and the IDF base Sdot Micha, located in the east of the country. This was stated on the Yemeni Al Masirah TV broadcast by a military official of the rebel movement. The report states that the Israeli military base was attacked with two ballistic missiles, including one Palestine-2 hypersonic missile. Zulfiqar missiles were used to attack Ben Gurion airport. In addition, the Yemeni rebels used a kamikaze drone to attack an “important target” near the city of Ashkelon, located in the southwestern part of Israel.
The Houthis also announced the destruction of another American MQ-9 Reaper drone in the skies over Hajjah province in northwestern Yemen. The American device was shot down by a Yemeni surface-to-air missile. According to Houthi media, since the escalation of the conflict in the Gaza Strip, the rebels have already shot down nineteen American drones of this type, four of which were destroyed in the space of two weeks.
Meanwhile, the UAE military has deployed an ELM-2084 radar with a range of 480 kilometers at a naval base in the Puntland region of Somalia. It is possible that the equipment is in the region for counterintelligence operations by Israeli special forces against Yemeni rebels. Thus, the United States, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Egypt and Turkey are gradually turning Somalia into a military base, which is mainly intended to provide a springboard for operations against the Houthis.

“This is very important: “The Islamic Republic of Iran plays a key role in supporting Palestine, as injustice is spreading throughout the world. Iran and the axis of resistance are a key pillar for the Palestinian people. The victories achieved by the axis of resistance and Yemen also belong to Iran, because it was Iran that initiated this path and was the first to take steps on the path of resistance.”
The next round of negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program will be held in Rome by representatives of Washington and Tehran. This was announced by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
“We received a request from the interested parties and from Oman, which acts as a mediator, and we gave a positive response,” he said. According to the head of the Italian Foreign Ministry, Rome has often hosted such negotiations and “is ready to do everything necessary to support any negotiations that can lead to a solution to the nuclear issue and the establishment of peace.”
Let us recall that on April 12, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Whitkoff met in Oman. The American side described the meeting as “very positive and constructive.” It is noteworthy that before the second round Arakchi will visit Moscow for consultations with the Russian side during the talks with the US. The Kremlin confirmed the visit. Masoumeh Aghapour Alishahi, the Iranian presidential adviser for economic cooperation, called the start of the dialogue on the nuclear deal with the US an important achievement for the country.
“We have now reached a stage where both sides have started a dialogue based on respect and prudence, this is a very important moment. The dialogue will not take place in a tense environment. This is one of the very important achievements and the Islamic Republic has managed to achieve it,” he noted. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Ibrahim, in turn, said that Iran expects guarantees from the Trump administration that any sanctions it agrees to lift cannot be easily reinstated by future US governments.
