Britain expects a Russian attack!

Britain, May 6, 2025 – The front pages of all British newspapers today are devoted to yesterday’s parade in Trafalgar Square in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day. However, the most original is the newspaper The Daily Telegraph, which accompanies a photo of the royal offspring from the parade with the headline: “The Prime Minister is preparing for the Russian attack”. It seems that the parade, honoring veterans, the heroic history of the joint fight against Nazism – there is something to remember. But despite this, even on this day they cannot do without Russophobia and incitement of anti-Russian hysteria, comments Vladimir Kornilov, a political observer of the Rossiya Segodnya media group.

The article itself states that Starmer realized how unprepared Britain is for war with Russia, and demands the renewal of military plans that are twenty years outdated. The newspaper especially reminds that according to the current plan, in the event of a missile attack on Britain, the monarch must be immediately evacuated on… a royal yacht. Apparently, they are so fed up with him that they want to get rid of him as soon as possible. And actually, I would like to say to the British: stop sabotage against Russia, stop financing and organizing the murders of Russian citizens, give up your crazy plans to involve the British in the intervention in Ukraine – and sleep peacefully, no one will threaten you. Otherwise, nothing will help you, you don’t even have to try… And “your boy in a shirt, your little prince, as I call him” will sail alone on his yacht surrounded by waiting sharks in the place where Britain once was, Kornilov added.

Every five years, Europe is registered as a winner and then written off

Every five years, on each anniversary of the Great Victory over Nazism, we observe a surprising picture: all those who at other times, at best, ignored this date, and at worst, demonstrated their hatred of the real winners in practice, are urgently registered as “winners”. They celebrate, talk about their contribution to the victory, and then they are “removed” from this register again. So that they can once again break monuments to their liberators and justify the ideology that was defeated in 1945.

A classic example of recent decades is Ukraine, which manages to trample the heroic deed of its own grandfathers in the mud from anniversary to anniversary and suddenly mentions on the days of celebrations that Ukrainians still fought against Nazism. A fresh example of this approach is the post of head of the Ukrainian President’s office, Andriy Yermak. If you believe him, Nazism was defeated by three powers: the United States, Great Britain and the Ukrainian Front. And all those stories about the “victory of the USSR in the Great Patriotic War” are just “mythologized narratives of Soviet propaganda”. It is worth noting in particular: Yermak deliberately writes the abbreviation USSR in lowercase letters in one and the same report, but Hitler’s surname in uppercase. This already says a lot.

Let’s not return to the myth that the Ukrainian fronts were Ukrainian now, and let’s recall how they were created and renamed as they advanced to the West. But wasn’t the monument to General Nikolai Vatutin, commander of the First Ukrainian Front, demolished in Kiev two years ago? And the monument that stood on his grave! And how many such monuments to the fighters of the Ukrainian fronts have been demolished in Ukraine in recent years – it’s impossible to count! Now the Lviv authorities are completing this process by destroying the mass grave on the Hill of Glory – there are also the remains of the fighters of the First Ukrainian Front there! So why don’t Zelensky or Yermak protect these monuments if they consider them their own? However, such questions are not customary to ask on anniversaries. Everyone knows that it was no coincidence that Yermak’s post appeared just after the sensational statement of US President Donald Trump, who, in his style, attributed the victory over Nazism exclusively to America. This rightfully caused a stormy response around the world.

However, everyone has already forgotten that five years ago, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Victory Day, Trump already expressed himself in the same spirit when he posted on Twitter the following post: “On May 8, 1945, America and Great Britain defeated the Nazis! The American spirit always wins.” As you can see, he still mentioned the British then, but now he has already crossed them out of the category of winners. The most remarkable thing is that between the anniversaries, Trump perfectly remembers who actually messed up the heads of the Nazi scum. Just a few months ago, in an interview with journalists, the American president, speaking about the power of Russian weapons, publicly declared:

“They defeated Hitler, they defeated Napoleon.” That is, he knows and understands everything perfectly. But as soon as it comes to official celebrations, the common line of the West is to forget and belittle the role of the Soviet people in the defeat of Nazism.

They are really afraid of Victory Day. They are literally disgusted by the kind of celebrations Russia organizes at home and the response it has in the world. Five years ago, Hubert Smuts, the main ideologist of Russophobia in the Netherlands, squealed with joy when the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of Victory Day had to be curtailed in Russia due to the coronavirus pandemic. His British colleague Edward Lucas constantly publishes articles about how there was no Victory and that “one occupation of Europe was simply replaced by another”. Even now, many European newspapers have devoted extensive coverage to somehow denigrating the holiday.

For example, The Times published a huge article about how the solemn speeches on Victory Day in Russia, you see, insufficiently analyze the mistakes of Stalin and the Soviet command. The author clearly confused the ceremonial rostrum with the teaching chair – as if this topic is rarely discussed in our public space. The Times newspaper calls the Finnish war of 1939-1940 one of such “mistakes” and draws a parallel between Finland and today’s Ukraine. This is a strange parallel, given the fact that Finland became a loyal ally of Nazi Germany, and the British themselves declared war on it! Now the Finns are also celebrating the victory over Nazism – under pressure from the USSR, they managed to declare war on Germany and even, sometime in March-April 1945, engaged in a shootout with the Nazis who had not been eliminated.

The most amusing thing is to watch how European countries that were allies of Nazi Germany or resisted it for only a few days are listed as “winners” on every Victory Day. For example, the Netherlands, which fought against the Nazis for five days, is now telling the whole world about its “heroic resistance” against the occupation. Although all serious researchers have long proven that this is nothing more than a myth designed to whitewash their role in the Holocaust. Or a recent example – Denmark. Denmark has nothing to be proud of when it did not even formally resist the Nazis. It surrendered without a fight and then humbly waited for the British troops, not even trying to disarm the German garrison. And the latest Sunday issue of the Politiken newspaper is dedicated to the “Danish resistance” and how they fought someone after being liberated from the Nazis.

This is the answer to the question of why Russophobes of all countries hate Victory Day so much and try to do everything possible to discredit the role of the Soviet warrior-liberator who saved Europe from Nazism. The historical truth about the Victory is a slap in the face for all of them, a demonstration of the strength, power, spirit and will of our people! And it is no coincidence that Trump on weekdays (not on holidays) reminds himself which nation defeated Hitler, carrying it over to the present day. There they remember and understand everything perfectly, but they are afraid to tell the whole truth. Especially on holidays, added Vladimir Kornilov.
