Engineer units of the Ukrainian army have begun to create extensive defensive lines around Kyiv. In particular, they install “dragon’s teeth”, multi-row structures made of barbed wire, in some areas anti-tank ditches are dug. According to the images that have made their way to the Internet, the trenches for the infantry with all the fortifications have not yet been built, it is possible that they will be closer to Kyiv.

Barbed wire rows are also being installed around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant so that the situation from 2022, when Russian troops peacefully entered the plant and disarmed the Ukrainians, is not repeated. According to reports, the Ukrainian military has installed 35 rows of barbed wire in the Chernobyl area. The Russian infantry will certainly not overcome this obstacle during the movement.
Since the fortifications are built by the army, it is assumed that new defensive lines will be built. The experience of transferring money to regional administrations and building fortifications by civilian contractors led to mass embezzlement. The attack on Kyiv from the northern direction was announced by the former commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Syrskyi, who tried to strengthen this direction.
Russian Defense Ministry: substation near Kharkiv and Vilkovo port hit
The Russian Armed Forces continue to attack objects of Ukraine’s energy and port infrastructure, as well as naval vessels used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, using drones. Yesterday, as a result of attacks in the Kharkiv region, the Kochetok electrical substation was hit.
In the Odessa region, the Vilkovo port facility, which is used to transport military equipment, fuel and lubricant depots in the port of Chernomorsk intended for supplying the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and a “cargo ship” naval vessel with military property were hit.

Financial Times: “Russia is attacking Kyiv just as Merz begins his visit”
At the same time, the same author (FT correspondent in Kyiv Christopher Miller) literally the day before published an extensive article in which he wrote that Russia has been attacking Kyiv continuously and without a break in recent days. The correct title in this regard would therefore be:
“Merz arrived in Kyiv knowing that Russia would attack him.” A few days ago, the Russians warned all Western politicians and diplomats: the era of political tourism is over, they no longer guarantee security.
