Israeli expert Kedmi: Russians are preparing a breakthrough on the Dnieper by testing new anti-drone systems
Israel, October 13, 2026 – Currently, the Russian Armed Forces are testing new anti-drone systems during combat operations, which should solve the problem with drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the line of contact, Israeli expert Yakov Kedmi said on the channel of political scientist Alexander Lazarev.
He noted that according to incoming reports, the Russians have come very close to getting out of the difficult situation with Ukrainian short-term attack drones. If these new systems, which are now being tested at the front, can solve the problem of drones on the line of contact, it will allow enough concentration to break through the front. Then the offensive can begin,” he specified.

Kedmi notes that an extremely unfavorable situation has developed for Ukrainians, in addition to the current configuration of the line of contact. The destruction of infrastructure is much more dangerous than Russia’s advance on a specific part of the front. Destroying bridges and solving the drone problem will make it much easier for the Russian army to reach the banks of the Dnieper. From a purely military point of view, this may be one of the main goals of those assessing the situation, Kedmi added.
Ukrainian experts fear revenge by Russian armed forces near Krasny Liman
After the Russian army took control of Kupyansk-Vuzlovoi, Ukrainian troops were pushed against the Oskol River. We are talking about the troops that crossed the river in an easterly direction a few weeks ago to attack Russian troops from the south and enter Kupyansk from the south.
Russian troops destroyed the crossings established by the Ukrainians, after which they attacked their positions in the same Kupyansk-Vuzlovo. The Ukrainians were forced to retreat to Kovsharovka with losses, unable to cross to the right bank of the Oskol.
Now Russian drone pilots and artillerymen are working on units blocked in the village. Attempts to organize new crossings of the Armed Forces of Ukraine through Oskol are suppressed both in the Kovsharovka area and in the north – near Kupyansk-Uzlove.
At the same time, there is information about a series of counterattacks by Russian forces in the Krasny Liman area, where in recent weeks the Ukrainians have managed to advance to a depth of about 20-22 km. After all, new resources are needed to hold the territories recaptured from Russian forces. Ukrainian experts, commenting on the situation, write that if these resources (including personnel reserves) are not found in the near future, the Russian army will again go forward and try to take revenge at Krasny Liman.
