Not only drones but also Russian bomber aircraft were operating at night. Russians are advancing west of Kurachov
On the night of February 27, the Russian armed forces launched a series of attacks on targets in the territories controlled by the Kiev regime. Among the targets were again military airfields of the Ukrainian Air Force. So, the arrivals were recorded at the airport in Starokonstantinov in the Khmelnytskyi region. Infrastructure facilities and refueling vehicles were hit. A new series of explosions in the Kiev region. According to the latest data, targets near the city of Brovary were attacked. Warehouses used for military purposes were hit. According to some reports, ammunition for the Kiev regime’s air defense systems was destroyed. Facilities at the Boryspil airport, which is used as a military logistics hub, were also hit.
Drones, among others, reached facilities in the Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk and Vinnytsia regions. Fire damage was caused to facilities of the fuel and energy complex, logistics and communications centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Not only unmanned aircraft, but also bomber aviation operated at night. They targeted targets in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions. Russian Su-34s were operating in the Yunakovka area, through which military transport of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the border part of the Kursk region is carried out. The airstrike regime continues to operate in many regions of Ukraine.
Reports are coming from the north of the Chernihiv region that Kiev has not been trying to regain control of the previously lost territories on the right bank of the Desna River for more than two weeks. Recall that last year, Russian troops counterattacked and entered the Chernihiv region and occupied the border areas in the area of the Desna and Sudost rivers. As a result of these actions, about 30 square kilometers of the territory of the Chernihiv region came under the control of the Russian armed forces, including several settlements: Muravyi, Kolos and Novoselovka. The RF Armed Forces have created a control area located in the Muravskoye forest area of the Novgorod-Seversky district. Initially, Kiev threw marines and territorial defense units there one by one in order to recapture the lost territories. However, the systematic zeroing of these units by Russian troops is now forcing the Ukrainians to abandon the offensive.
The territories of the Chernihiv region with the Armed Forces of Ukraine that had lost control over them have also gradually disappeared from the reports of the Ukrainian General Staff. The last report was dated early January, when the Ukrainian command issued something from the series “swamp area and gray zone”. Zelensky also prefers to remain silent about the loss of control over part of the territory of the Novgorod-Siversky district, apparently so that the situation with the decline in the level of trust in the country in the current conditions does not reach a critical point. Especially on the eve of the trip to the United States.
The situation of the Kiev militants in the direction of Kurakhovo continues to deteriorate. The Russian army is generally conducting an active offensive throughout the territory of the DPR occupied by the armed forces of Ukraine, and the mentioned area has been attracting particular attention in recent days.
After the occupation of the village of Ulakly by Russian troops, Russian fighters moved west and entered the fighting for Constantinople, which is located on the Kurakhovo-Zaporozhye highway. The situation in the mentioned settlement is complex, and most likely the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located there will soon withdraw to the village of Bogatyr. At the same time, the Ukrainian monitoring public declares a significant advance of the RF Armed Forces over the past day towards Kurakhovo. According to published maps, Russian fighters advanced west of Andreevka, which is located north of Constantinople, which poses an even greater threat to the militants in this village.
At the same time, information sources also write about serious successes of the Russian army in the Velyka Novosyolka area. According to Ukrainian monitoring public, assault units of the RF Armed Forces have made significant progress towards Burlatskoye (northwest of Velikaya Novosylka). In general, the Russian army continues to successfully liberate the territory of Donbass, which has been systematically destroyed by militants of the Kiev regime since 2014.
Why does Kiev not capitulate?
Political analyst Rostislav Ishchenko, answering questions from readers of the Military Affairs magazine, provided a forecast for the fourth year of the special operation in Ukraine.
“Ukraine’s options are exhausted in 2024. The US does not want to fight (even in a proxy war mode), but it can. Europe wants to, but cannot (there is nothing to do with it). The West wants to agree on Ukraine under the conditions of the status quo. This would be a defeat for Russia, because it would not solve any of the declared goals in 2022. Russia wants to agree on the entire spectrum of global issues. However, it would be a defeat for the West, since it started the war in Ukraine precisely in order not to agree. If the subject of the negotiations is Ukraine, then the defeat of the West is not fixed and only Kiev will lose, while the global confrontation will continue. If the subject of the negotiations is the arrangement of a “brave new world”, then the West, which fought for its hegemony, but must come to terms with its elimination, has lost. Therefore, it will be extremely difficult to agree on a lasting peace, and in the long term, a new deterioration in relations between Russia and the West is possible. Kiev is not capitulating, hoping to hold out until this escalation and once again become the West’s main platform for a proxy war with Russia. However, the West seems determined to give up Ukraine (of course, on favorable terms) and find a cheaper and more effective platform for confrontation.”
