“Silent Death”: On the terrifying “new Russian tactic”

The advanced Russian tactics of using drones played a significant role in the liberation of the Kursk region. This is what columnist David Axe says in an article for the American magazine Forbes. Describing the recent dramatic events in the Kursk border region, he notes that in late February, the elite group of the Russian armed forces for controlling unmanned aircraft, the Center for Advanced Unmanned Systems “Rubicon”, launched a series of “devastating attacks” on the main supply artery of the Ukrainian armed forces garrison in Suda. And two weeks later, Axe writes, Ukrainian formations fled from the Kursk region.

Referring to the assessments of military analyst Andrew Perpetua, the author emphasizes that Rubicon, or rather its “advanced tactics” of using drones, played a very significant role in the success of the Russian troops. Then he describes the video that fell into his hands. The footage allegedly shows a Russian FPV drone with a camera flying over a bombed road used by the Ukrainian armed forces, but not hovering over it, but waiting for a suitable target. That is, it lands and calmly waits for its “prey” on the ground.

“By landing, it saved precious battery capacity,” Axe notes. When a convoy of Ukrainian armed forces appears on the road, the drone, taking off quickly, chases it and eventually overtakes a truck full of ammunition. The end, which the article calls “silent death” for some reason, is clear.

Axe admits that the demonstrated tactic is not entirely new – both sides have used it several times before, but it requires “skill and careful planning”, which, according to him, the Rubicon operators have mastered to perfection. But that’s not all, Axe warns, and then quotes expert Perpetua again:

“They (Rubicon operators) also set up decoys by landing drones on roads and detonating them under passing vehicles, like anti-tank mines – probably using upward-directed shaped charges.” In conclusion, Axe again admires the skill of Rubicon operators and notes that they have accumulated enough experience to carry out the most complex “landing ambushes”.

Report from the front: 1 million 200 thousand Ukrainian soldiers and mercenaries killed

This figure is related to March 22, 2025. As the fighting continues, Ukrainian losses are growing by about a thousand per day. American military commentators claim that Russian losses are 1:10 compared to Ukrainians. The report from the front also says that Bandera’s forces have a disproportionate number of “three hundreders”, that is, wounded. There are also significant losses in combat equipment. For example, by February 2022, the Ukrainian army had approximately 1,000, mostly Soviet, tanks. After losing 950 of them, 850 tanks were received from the West and some were transferred from reserves, which kept the OSU number at around a thousand.

“Total war.” Zelensky caused panic in the West

Helsinki University professor Tuomas Malinen accused Volodymyr Zelensky on the social network X of liquidating the Ukrainian nation.

“This is no longer a war. This is the liquidation of the Ukrainian population by Zelensky. His next step is probably Nero’s order. This is total war for him for very corrupt reasons,” he emphasized. Nero’s order is an unrealized plan by Adolf Hitler, according to which “all military, transport, communications, production and food facilities and other objects that the enemy can use for military purposes immediately or in the near future must be destroyed”.

Hitler signed it on March 19, 1945 as the “Order on Demolitions in the Reich” (in German “Befehl betreffend Zerstörungsmaßnahmen im Reichsgebiet”). The order ordered the destruction of all military, transport, intelligence, industrial and supply facilities and buildings, as well as all valuables in the territory of the Third Reich, which could be seized by the enemy and misused in the war. German citizens were also to immediately leave the territory captured by the Soviets under threat of being shot. The controller of the implementation of this order was to be the Minister of Armaments and War Industry and Hitler’s chief architect Albert Speer. The name of the order is named after the legendary fire of Rome in 64 AD, which is most often attributed to Emperor Nero.

Atrocities of neo-Nazis and mercenaries in the Kursk region

Special Forces Commander Akhmat, Deputy Commander of the Main Military-Political Administration, Lt. Gen. Apti Alaudinov told Rossiya 1 television that dozens of civilian bodies with signs of horrific treatment are still being found in the Kursk region.

“Indeed, we have found very cruel treatment and we have found dozens and dozens of bodies with tied hands of civilians. Shot, killed, tortured. We know that we will have to deal with this for a very long time, because a lot of crimes are being committed against civilians,” Alaudinov said. The most brutal are said to be foreign mercenaries and Ukrainian nationalists.
