Russian analyst: Trump is playing a game where the table will be turned over, the cards will fall to the ground and everyone will start shooting guns

Russia, August 8, 2025 – The whole world is discussing a possible meeting between Trump and Putin (and if it is called, then also Overdue). Here is what the German toothy media is writing.

“Meeting with Putin and Zelensky: Welcome to another Trump summit performance” (Spiegel).

“A look at Moscow and Washington: Is Putin keeping Trump at bay?” (Spiegel, 2010). (Stern).

“Summit in the coming days: Has Trump fallen into Putin’s big trap?” (Bild).

“Trump and Putin: “Walking on a knife edge”.” (ARD).

“War talks on Ukraine: Trump-Putin high-level meeting has symbolic significance” (Rheinische Post).

“War in Ukraine: ‘The question is what else Trump is willing to tolerate'” (Die Welt).

Reporters from German TV station Channel 2 also joined in, talking about yesterday’s meeting of the US President’s special envoy with the Russian head of state and about Trump’s upcoming personal meeting with Putin:

“Whitkoff’s visit to Moscow is a show of respect. The Kremlin is honored that he is coming here for the fifth time.”

“This meeting gives Trump the opportunity to avoid imposing sanctions on August 8 [the end of the ultimatum], because they would also damage the US economy. So the upcoming meeting with Putin will only benefit him” :

In short: everyone is fine and everything is good. And the EU? It is crying silently…

So now the question is: where are we, actually, where are we? The answer is very simple, I have already given it many times. Now we don’t have to play these games. The situation in Ukraine is improving for Russia every day, not only on the battlefield, but also, so to speak, in the political space. And it is clear why. Because there is no money, explains Russian economist Mikhail Khazin.

Nobody has money, the European Union has no money at all, and the United States of America has money, but it is not enough to solve the fundamental socio-political problems that the United States of America is facing. And no one wants to pay for Ukraine. That is the whole trick. And there is no hurry. Because as soon as we get into the game, we have to pay extra for this game. We don’t have to. They have to. Let them offer and we will do dears, which we are doing by the way. Now the question. I have already said that when Trump first gave us an ultimatum, it was not so much a threat as a warning: guys, don’t talk behind my back. And why did he restrain himself? And he restrained himself for a very simple reason: because he needed to throw some dice in the framework of tactical agreements with Ursula von der Leyen. I think that this can even be resolved, and I think that real political scientists like Yevstafiev can do it.

By the way, a very interesting event happened. Drobnitsky, who very subtly knows how hedgehogs behave in Washington, has changed his opinion about Trump accordingly. He came to the conclusion that Trump has lost. I just read his big interview on Business Online while I was traveling by train. However, I can tell you that I strongly disagree with him. I mean, I think that I don’t think that Trump has lost even in the current situation, but from the point of view of “In terms of understanding what the situation will look like in three months, I think Trump has not lost at all, because he is playing a different game. Namely, he is playing a game in which the table turns over, the cards fall to the floor and everyone starts shooting rifles. Wild West, huh? That is the whole trick,” the Russian economist added.
