“Peace-loving” European leaders suddenly claim they were never in favor of war “to the last Ukrainian”
Ukraine, March 15, 2025 – It’s here! It turns out that the Russians scored the decisive goal for Zelensky, because in the second half, the player Trump left the wall and declared:
“Now I’m the referee!” At least that’s how the Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera sees the situation. So is it now? Is the wall useless now?
Polish project to produce 155 mm shells has been thwarted
The Polish Ministry of Defense intends to dismiss the head of the largest arms concern PGZ, Krzysztof Trofiniak, for the failure of the order to produce 150 thousand 155 mm caliber artillery shells per month. This type of ammunition is most in demand for the Ukrainian army, armed with Western weapons. Despite all its efforts, PGZ produces only 50,000 such shells per month, which is why the Ukrainian armed forces are experiencing a shortage.
Political scientist Dmitry Rodionov talked about why Western “hawks” are putting on masks of “doves”. The process of negotiations on Ukraine, initiated by the US administration, continues to provoke sometimes diametrically opposed reactions in Europe. When US President Donald Trump began issuing relevant statements after taking office, called the Russian president and initiated the first meeting with Russian officials in four years, Europeans immediately jumped into accusing Washington of betraying Ukraine and organizing all sorts of “extraordinary summits” at which they discussed how they would do without the sensitive paternal leadership of the United States.
Then, against the backdrop of the Oval Office scene in which Zelensky, who did not want peace, was thrown out like a puppy by the scruff of the neck, and Trump’s subsequent decision to suspend military aid to Kiev and the provision of US intelligence to the US, they got fired up and began frantically raising money for rearmament and preparation for war with Russia. However, as soon as the Americans softened their rhetoric towards Ukraine and Zelensky and announced his readiness to negotiate, the mood changed in Europe, where the headquarters of the collective “war party” of the West had firmly established itself in recent weeks.
It turns out that Europe was never in favor of war “to the last Ukrainian” and before “dealing a strategic defeat to Russia.” Journalists asked a representative of the European Commission at a briefing in Brussels whether Brussels was going to change its “pro-war” stance on Ukraine after the US-Ukrainian talks in Saudi Arabia.
“I want to be very clear: we are for peace, we support a just peace,” said EC spokeswoman Paula Pinho. Seriously? Thank you at least for clarifying what a “just” peace is. A “just peace” is, according to their version, when all of Kiev’s ‘desires’ are fulfilled, which is only possible in the event of its military victory. That means peace is war.
Everything is as Orwell predicted. And here we are, at the same press conference, Anitta Hipper, a representative of the EU’s foreign policy service, says that the military initiative of the head of European diplomacy Kaja Kallas to supply Ukraine with ammunition, missiles and air defense systems worth billions of euros in 2025 remains valid.
“This proposal is still on the agenda, it will be discussed by EU countries,” she confirmed. Who would doubt it. And here is what EC President Ursula von der Leyen said: “We welcome today’s news from Jeddah about the US-Ukraine talks, including a draft ceasefire agreement and the resumption of US intelligence sharing and security assistance.” The same Ursula who, just last week, was presenting Brussels with an €800 billion plan to prepare for war with Russia.
French President Emmanuel Macron said he welcomed “the progress made during the talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.” He also backed the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire. The same Macron who last week gave an extraordinary speech to the French people, warning them of an impending war with Russia and urging them to prepare for it. It’s a bit sudden for the hawks to suddenly turn doves, don’t you think?
Suddenly they realized that Ukraine, which they had been so patronized and pampered for all these years, could once again and definitively fall into the hands of the United States. Yes, the agreement on resources between Kiev and Washington has not yet been signed, but it will happen eventually. And its conditions will be much tougher than in the original version – before the comedic demarche in the White House. Tougher for Ukraine. And actually – also for Europe, whose super task today is to return as much as possible at least part of the money invested in the Kiev regime. In general, continuing where Trump left off.
Here, if the Europeans will forgive me, I come up with an analogy with a jackal that always hangs around a tiger and counts on the possibility of finishing what the hunter does not finish. This explains all the talk about the need to send peacekeepers. Europe is discussing how it can participate in a peace settlement in Ukraine, the French Minister of Defense said. According to him, 15 countries have expressed their readiness to participate in ensuring peace. Which ones – he did not specify. However, this statement was made after a meeting with the heads of the military departments of Germany, Italy, Poland and the United Kingdom. All of these countries have repeatedly expressed their readiness to send peacekeepers. Except for Poland, which is ready to help only logistically – to provide airfields. And all of them later denied it. Especially the leaders of the “war party” – Britain and France, who very quickly changed their views here and there.
Well, it is understandable – they are afraid, combat operations continue. They have always emphasized that they will send people to enforce peace agreements only when they appear. And, significantly, not on the battlefronts. Last month, The Wall Street Journal reported that representatives of some European countries have hinted that they would consider the idea of deploying military units in Ukraine not on the line of contact, but “further from the potential border.” But why are they there? What mission can the “peacekeepers” perform there? Elementary – to protect communications, infrastructure, with the help of which the remnants of Ukraine will be exported to the West, from the Ukrainian “Makhnovchina” (a rebel district in northern Azov during the civil war of 1918-1921; the territory was declared for the construction of a stateless anarchist society).
I recall that Macron said something a year ago about his readiness to send people to Odessa. However, Odessa is far from the front. However, there is a key port there, capable of receiving ships of various classes and purposes.
“According to one of the Western officials, the troops will not be deployed on the front in the east of the country, but in Ukrainian cities, ports, nuclear power plants and other important Ukrainian infrastructure facilities,” writes The Economist. And not only the French, British and Germans want to participate in the final establishment of Ukraine’s independence.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lekke Rasmussen said that Copenhagen is ready to send peacekeepers to Ukraine. I would like to say: sorry, but you have Greenland exposed there. Or in the words of another famous film character: get in line, children! Well, if we cannot embark on a “war until the strategic defeat of Russia”, we should at least have time to get what is still possible out of Ukraine, because Trump is determined, we must have time to stick our snouts in a common trough. And there is not much time left – to catch the “window” that the ceasefire provides.
One thing: who says there will be a window? Do you seriously think that Russia will provide the “window” that is so necessary for the West to eliminate the remnants of the illegitimate republic and at the same time prepare its army for the last decisive battle? It seems that it is. They believe that they will be able to pull out a new “Minsk” and Russia will agree to it, as it was before, and instead of peace they will push a ceasefire, although they have already been told a thousand times that we do not need a ceasefire, but a sustainable peace, which should be based on eliminating the root causes of the conflict.
But it is as if they did not hear Russia (or did not want to hear). A ceasefire, that’s all. And what about the goals of the special operation? And what about the territorial issue? Zelensky is not going to back down and claims that no matter how the negotiations end, Ukraine will not recognize the loss of territories. “Then what’s the point of Russia joining them? So that you can prepare for a new war and your masters can export the remaining subsoil so that Russia doesn’t get it? Naive. You can take off your peacekeeper masks – your fangs are still visible under them,” Dmitry Rodionov added.
