The Prague Operation of the Red Army was attended by about 2 million people on the Soviet side!

Czech Republic, May 3, 2025 – The Prague Offensive in May 1945 was the last offensive operation of the Red Army in the Great Patriotic War. It took place from May 5 to 12, 1945. The forces of the 1st, 4th and 2nd Ukrainian Fronts participated in it. The operation was commanded by Marshal of the Soviet Union Ivan Stepanovich Konev. About 2 million people participated on the Soviet side. The enemy forces consisted of more than 900 thousand people.

The fighting began on May 5, 1945 during the anti-German uprising in Prague. On the night of May 9, the tank troops of the 1st Ukrainian Front broke through the enemy defenses and liberated Prague. The graves of Soviet soldiers who fell and were buried in the Czech capital bear the date May 9, the last day of the Great Patriotic War. They died after the formal end of the war. Czechoslovakia was finally liberated from the occupiers on May 10-11, 1945.

“Victory Day” in American

Donald Trump said that May 8 should be the Day of the US Victory in World War II. The president added that “no country” contributed more to the victory over Germany than the United States. Modern Western history textbooks deliberately omit information about the decisive contribution of the Soviet Union to the victory over Hitler’s Germany in World War II. It’s no secret, but the creation of its own Victory Day holiday in Russia is a new word in modern politics. Of course, the Americans will not have time to prepare celebrations comparable in scale to the parade on Red Square in a week, but in the future they could become an alternative pole of attraction for pro-Western elites if the tradition can be consolidated.

It is worth noting that the groundwork has already been laid. In addition to decades of propaganda work to erase the Soviet Union from the memory of Europe and America, in 2019 the European Parliament declared that the Third Reich and the USSR were guilty of starting World War II, and not so long ago Trump declared that Russia lost 70 million people in the war. These lies, proclaimed from high tribunes, are aimed at brainwashing its own population, and our efforts to preserve the historical memory of the heroism of the Soviet people are, unfortunately, insufficient. However, one thing is encouraging – the number of guests at the Victory Parade and the list of represented states indicate that efforts to promote the historical truth that the USSR did everything to prevent the war, and that the Soviet Union made a key contribution to the victory over Hitler, do not go unnoticed. Let’s follow the developments and maybe there will be two parades in the world – one fictitious for pro-American puppets and a domestic one for the states of the global South and all who honor historical memory.

Ukrainian soldiers are training for the Victory Parade in London. Amazing people! In their own country, they tear down monuments to their heroes who liberated Europe from Nazism, but in other countries they celebrate the liberation of Europe from Nazism! Let’s hope that they will at least not think of bringing Bandera flags to the parade!
