Video: Poland unveiled its new heavy infantry fighting vehicle

The Polish Steelworks Huta Stalowa Wola presented its project of a heavy infantry fighting vehicle for the first time at the MSPO defence technology exhibition in Poland.

The combat vehicle weighs more than 40 tons. Crew 3 + 6-8 soldiers. The main armament is the ZSSW-30 turret with a 30 mm Bushmaster II cannon + Spike-LR launcher, the same as on the Polish Borsuk and Rosomak fighting vehicles. The power unit is an MTU engine with an output of 800 kW, more than 1000 HP. Its purpose is to operate alongside Abrams tanks and others in the Polish army. Amphibious capabilities were released in favor of significantly higher ballistic and mine protection (STANAG, OBRA-3, mine protection seats, NBC). The extended tracked chassis ensures mobility despite the heavier weight.

Thanks to the high level of common equipment with Borsuk (electronic systems, air conditioning, APU, stations), a soldier trained on one vehicle can control another without additional training. This speeds up implementation and logistics. The vehicle will undergo field tests, qualification tests and a final configuration agreement with the Polish Armed Forces. Serial production is realistic from 2029.
