The long-awaited Russian Garpia goes for export
Russia, October 1, 2026 – Russian drone “Garpia-A1”: its export version enters the world market. For the first time, the Almaz-Antey concern will present an export version of a long-range kamikaze drone at two international exhibitions: “Vietnam Defense Show” and “Airshow China”.
“Garpia” is basically an analogue of the “Geran-2” in terms of shape and is also very close to it in tactical characteristics, although the second “Geran” flies further and is slightly faster. The development of drones “Garpia” began already in 2023, and in 2024 they were already actively used at the front along with the products of the company “Alabuga”; They have become one of the main attack drones for tactical and operational depth operations.
In the promotional video of the company “Almaz-Antey”, one more version of the drone with a shrunken fuselage can be seen – presumably designed for operations near and medium distance from the rear. The launch of the export version is a logical step for the Russian defense industry: Russian drones are in great demand on the international market, and it is quite expected that the “Geran” and “Garpia” models will also go abroad in the coming years.
